You know… I have been thinking lately about where we hold our past? Do you keep the past where it belongs–in the PAST–or do you bring it to your future? What I mean is are you bringing your past experiences, — successes and failures–into your future to “cloud” your possibilities? I would encourage you to learn from past experiences and leave it at that. For example, with children and their report cards: So often we “predict” their grades based on their past performances, rather than to encourage our children to “move on” to a “new” future. What is stopping a child who received a “C” or “D” in math from getting an “A” the next time? I propose it is their own thoughts (putting the past into their future) as well as our “interpretation” of their past and our expressions around that. (we put their past into their future too–thus we reinforce this backwards thinking!)
I am going to propose that each one of you think of one area in your life where you haven’t gotten the result you want –in your past– and then make a “new future” from “possibility”! HOW do we do this? Journal about it.. write: “I am so happy and grateful now that I ….. (fill in the blank with the “new and improved” result you want)..”. Make sure to write it in the present and read it every day. You can also put it on your vision board: a picture of you having already achieved this goal. Tell only people who will support you in this new goal and turn away from the “dream stealers”.. don’t listen to them!! This will “trick” the subconscious mind and you will find that soon you are achieving “new and improved” things in all areas of your life!!
So today, lets start to put your past where it belongs.. in the past and …..create a “new Future from possibility”!!
This is a great suggestion to write it in a journal. I am going to try this. I work on meditating, visualizing but I get stuck in one area. This will work
